PING

WHAT IS PING?

PING is a basic information security course created for new members of Ganesh, but open to the public. The course consists of a total of 11 theoretical classes covering the basic topics of Linux, Cryptography, Networks, Web, Hardware, Reverse Engineering, and Pwning focused on security and Capture The Flag competitions. In addition to the theoretical classes, the course features a practical exercise platform that emulates the CTF competitions attended by the group.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Participation in the ping is not exclusive to new members of the group; anyone with a computer can take the course and obtain the certificate.

The certificate is issued based on the number of hours of participation, which is calculated by completing challenges on the platform and also by responding to class feedback forms.

WHAT IS THE COURSE SCHEDULE?

The course has weekly classes, starting on March 19, which will be taught at two times (with the same content) on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Classes can be attended in person at USP São Carlos campus 1 or online on Ganesh's YouTube channel (@ganeshicmc).

The locations of the in-person classes are announced weekly on Ganesh's Instagram (@ganeshicmc).

I MISSED THE PING DATE. WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE?

PING happens every year, but the classes broadcast on PING 2025 will be saved in a playlist on Ganesh's YouTube channel (@ganeshicmc).
