Lecture on techniques for analyzing integrated circuits at the silicon level. This lecture presented reverse engineering techniques applied to electronic components at the silicon level that can be practiced by anyone interested in understanding the workings of integrated circuits such as transistors, logic gates and even processors and memories. In times when security flaws have been exploited at the hardware level, such as the Spectre flaw and its complement Meltdown, exploiting silicon can provide valuable information. The talk was given by Bruno Rafael Aricó, a computer science graduate from IME-USP, co-founder of the university's Free Hardware group and coordinator of the Estúdio Guto Requena prototyping laboratory.
